The first thing that comes to mind when thinking of a veterinarian hospital is definitely not writing. Many people would be surprised by how much writing is actually done in the hospitals. One very important thing that some people may guess would be research. Every hospital has their own types or research about any given animal. This research involves all kinds of explanation that comes in the form a research paper. As an English student I have been given a lot of practice in writing research papers, but I have not been given the practice of research myself. I hope to be able to become a part of a research project to learn more about how exactly this writing is done. This type of writing is very important simply because research is important itself. Without research we would be nowhere near where we are right now in the field of veterinary medicine.
Another interesting thing that I didn’t think about in writing in veterinarian hospitals would be a newsletter. It may seem silly to think of this as a form of important writing, but this writing would be very beneficial in many ways. First, a newsletter may keep the pet owners up to date on what the hospital has accomplished in the past as well as the present. It is important to inform pet owners of the hospital’s success so they may begin to trust the veterinarians that will very possibly be treating their pets. Another important thing that a newsletter can do is to set the hospital apart from competing hospitals. If a pet owner were to choose between two hospitals to work on their animal, it makes more sense that they would choose the one they have heard about. Veterinarian hospitals may seem like a place where writing isn’t important, but without it some hospitals may become very lacking in their ability to operate.
